performance guidelines
we're currently booking acts and want you to perform. sotto voce strives to create a similar experience presented in the original sotto voce. songwriter-with-movie, movie with original soundtrack, etc. a combination of sound and sight should be the foundation of your performance. the visual element of the performance may take various shapes old home movies, a selection from obscure films, or something especially crafted for this event...
michael winters has offered his talents to performers who may need help creating a visual element or adapting vhs tapes to dvd. he will need ample time to create something from scratch, so please give substantial notice and express potential themes you'd like to explore.
keep in mind that you may want some audio between songs, as the video itself will play nonstop throughout the performance; we're trying to keep the evening as seamless as we can, which can be challenging...
sotto voce is limited to two hours. each performance is allotted 35 minutes, with a twenty minute break in between.
